So proud of Kya for her hard work on this project for school. The assignment; create a sculpture that symbolizes a mood or feeling. For Kya, our little book worm, this represents her happiness.
mexico 2014
February break in the Yucatan, Mexico. We rented a house on the beach in the small fishing village of Chelem on the Northern part of the Yucatan. We spent our days on the beach and adventuring around the Yucatan (exploring Mayan ruins, walking the city of Merida, swimming in cenotes, and boating with flamingos in Celestun). (there's a lot of photos because I just couldn't help myself- Part I and Part II).

A train, a car full of camping gear, two ferries, four canoes, 10 children, 8 adults, a gazillion mosquitos, 3 bottles of bug spray, a box of wine, an old fort, a beach all to ourselves, a sunset over the Boston skyline, a bonfire and roasting marshmallows on the beach, a morning dip in the Boston harbor.... a fabulous way to spend the last days of summer.
